Jacob Bender目前是北京大学的博士后研究员，师从Roger Ames（安乐哲)。他的研究兴趣包括道教哲学、佛教哲学（尤其是禅宗）以及比较东西方哲学。他最近完成了一份正在审查的手稿，题为《那些行动的人毁了它：道家对道德原教旨主义的批判》。

讲座内容：

As this study shows, the Daoist does not merely “deconstruct” moral metaphysics. The Daoist also provides a reconstructed account of values such that they (ironically) address the same concerns of the “Sages” they critique. Daoist philosophy does not merely espouse “amorality”. The Daoist offers practices that better fulfill the same promises of the moral philosopher in that they do not “ruin it”. If philosophers wished to better address human suffering, they are better served by abandoning “moral fundamentalism” and adopting the Daoist insights into nature and the causes of social ills.
